The cast has been revealed for the West End transfer of Next to Normal. The musical opens at Wyndham’s Theatre on 14 June for a strictly limited 14-week run.
The cast that starred in the 2023 Donmar Warehouse production will return for the West End run and includes Caissie Levy (Frozen on Broadway, Caroline, Or Change, Leopoldstadt), Olivier Award winner Jamie Parker (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London and on Broadway, The Crown), Jack Wolfe (Shadow and Bone), Olivier Award winner Eleanor Worthington-Cox (Jerusalem, Matilda The Musical), Trevor Dion Nicholas (Aladdin, Hamilton), and Jack Ofrecio (The Merry Wives of Windsor).
The musical, which was first seen on Broadway in 2009 and won three Tony Awards, follows a mother struggling with bipolar disorder. Next to Normal has music by Pulitzer, Tony, Emmy and, Grammy Award-winning composer Tom Kitt, and a book and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning writer Brian Yorkey.
Donmar Artistic Director Michael Longhurst directs the rock musical. The rest of the creative team includes Nigel Lilley (musical supervisor), Chloe Lamford (designer), Ann Yee (movement, choreography and additional direction), Lee Curran (lighting designer), Tony Gayle (sound designer), Tal Rosner (video designer), Nick Barstow (musical director), and Chris Hay (production manager).
