Remember remember the fifth of November but Treason is coming in March… Ricky Allan and Kieran Lynn’s new musical will be premiering live online from Cadogan Hall from 12th-14th March and it is now revealed its cast. alongside a creative team with direction by Hannah Chissick, musical supervision by Nick Pinchbeck and orchestration by Matthew Malone.
The company includes Lucie Jones (Legally Blonde, Waitress), Oliver Tompsett (& Juliet, Kinky Boots), Daniel Boys (Falsettos, Nativity Rocks!), Waylon Jacobs (Hamilton, Memphis), Bradley Jaden (Les Misérables, Wicked), Emmanuel Kojo (Oklahoma!, Show Boat), Rebecca LaChance (School of Rock, Beautiful), Cedric Neal (Chess, Memphis), Sharon Rose (Hamilton, Caroline Or Change) with Debris Stevenson (1st Luv, Poet in da Corner) as the show’s narrator.
New musical CASES was scheduled to run at The Other Palace last year but COVID-19 stopped the performances going ahead (see my piece here). Fortunately, they’ve now been able to create a full studio album which is set to be released in all online music stores from February 12th 2021 and available to pre-order now.
CASES explores unforeseen circumstances and unexpected crises inspired by journeys and careers within the arts and entertainment industry. Four artists experience the heartbreaks, sacrifices and triumphs during their pursuit of pure artistry as they balance fame with obscurity and try to establish a career amidst the prospect of financial instability.
CASES is created by Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and BRIT School graduated writer and composer Dominic Powell and this studio album features a dynamic new score, with new band and orchestral arrangements, and additional songs performed by a new West End cast including Olivier nominee Maiya Quansah-Breed, Bobbie Little, Andrew Patrick-Walker and Waylon Jacobs.
Metta Theatre – one of the UK’s leading production companies devoted to British musical theatre – is pleased to announce the release of the studio album for hip hop musical IN THE WILLOWS, in collaboration with Perfect Pitch. IN THE WILLOWS has been produced remotely during October and November 2020, and now released via Spotify, iTunes and other digital media.
IN THE WILLOWS transforms Kenneth Grahame’s well-loved tale into a thrilling new hip hop musical, written and directed by P Burton-Morgan, with music and additional lyrics from award-winning composer Pippa Cleary and groundbreaking hip-hop Composer Keiran Merrick. Amongst the performers on the album is Olivier award-winning actor, Clive Rowe – who has has just been appointed as Metta Theatre’s new Patron – and former cast member Harry Jardine as well as Hiba Elchikhe, Sharon Rose and Tim Mahendran.
And last but not least, last year’s digital production of Songs for a New World will return for a week’s worth of streaming from 21st February. Starring Rachel John (Hamilton), Ramin Karimloo (The Phantom of The Opera), Cedric Neal (Motown) and Rachel Tucker (Come From Away) and Shem Omari James, Jason Robert Brown’s musical will stream via stream.theatre from 21st-24th February.
