News: Arrows & Traps bring Persephone to the Jack Studio Theatre

After their double bill of Holst – The Music In The Spheres and Payne – The Stars Are Fire earlier this year, Arrows & Traps Theatre are returning to the Jack Studio Theatre from Tuesday 30th August with Persephone, written by Ross McGregor. The show was debuted online as part of their lockdown Talking Gods season so it will be fascinating to see how it has develops as it adapts to an IRL scenario.

Persephone is a contemporary re-telling of one of the most beloved stories of Greek mythology. Sister-Goddesses Demeter and Hestia are just trying to get by. They have bills to pay, and little Persephone to care for.

The story of Persephone remains, as it always was, a story of love; how we abuse it, how it deceives us and how it makes life worth living.

Developed by the award-winning team behind Chaplin: Birth of a Tramp, HOLST: Music In The Spheres, The White Rose & Jekyll & Hyde, Persephone was an OnComm Finalist at the 2022 Off West End Awards. It runs Tuesday 30 August – Saturday 17 September at 7.30pm (no shows Sunday/Monday).

  1. I loved this play. I was enthralled the whole way through -. In my opinion this was a triumph of glorious, proper acting and witty, moving, profound story telling. You absolutely do not need to be a classics scholar to get everything you need from this play. Congratulations A&T and thank you for a great night’s entertainment.
