Westway are the UK’s only musical theatre label releasing music and films and as Christmas and New Year approaches, they have announced a great schedule of music releases and live shows – from their first original cast recording to one of their most ambitious projects to date recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
They are also launching series three of Westway Sessions at one of the best new intimate live music venues in London – Piano Smithfield.
John Barrowman – Centre Stage
Recorded in London and Cardiff in Spring and featuring the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, John has made a career defining album of pure musical theatre.
A rich collection of songs including a unique duet of Heart Of Stone (SIX) with Natalie Paris and interpretations of songs from Sunset Boulevard, Company and Funny Girl, amongst others.
Rob Madge – My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do)
Originally premiered at The Turbine Theatre, Battersea, this extraordinary show was a sell out at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer.
The original cast recording of this extraordinary new musical, written by Rob Madge and Pippa Cleary, is released on 21st October to coincide with its West End opening at The Garrick Theatre.
Ramin Karimloo – The Road To Find Out – North
This new EP is a collection of six songs featuring musical theatre and other songs reimagined in a bluegrass style. It is part three in a four part journey which began over ten years ago.
Recording in London with producer Ben Robbins it features ‘Music Of The Night’, ‘When Does It Go Away’ and ‘Once Upon A December’.
