Some musicals casting news for March

Exciting casting news for the months ahead, for Oklahoma!, Legally Blonde, The Witches of Eastwick in concert and The Cher Show

The Young Vic has announced the complete cast for the UK premiere of Oklahoma!, Daniel Fish’s striking revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s classic musical, re-orchestrated and reimagined for the 21st century.

Arthur Darvill plays Curly McLain, with James Davis as Will Parker, Stavros Demetraki as Ali Hakim, Anoushka Lucas as Laurey Williams, Olivier Award nominee Liza Sadovy as Aunt Eller, Patrick Vaill as Jud Fry and Marisha Wallace as Ado Annie. The cast is complete with Raphael Bushay as Mike, Greg Hicks as Andrew Carnes, Rebekah Hinds as Gertie Cummings, Ashley Samuels as Cord Elam, and Marie Mence as the lead dancer.


Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre have also announced principal casting for their forthcoming production of Legally Blonde (13 May-2 July). Directed by Lucy Moss, co-director and co-writer of SIX, Courtney Bowman takes the central role of Elle Woods. 

Also joining the cast are Michael Ahomka Lindsay (Emmett), Lauren Drew (Brooke), Vanessa Fisher (Vivienne), Isaac Hesketh (Margot), Nadine Higgin (Paulette), Alžbeta Matyšáková (Enid), Eugene McCoy (Callahan), Grace Mouat (Pilar), Alistair Toovey  (Warner), and Hannah Yun Chamberlain (Serena). Full casting will be announced in due course.


The Witches of Eastwick is the latest musical to receive the concert treatment as it pops up at the Sondheim Theatre for one night only on 20th June. Maria Friedman, who starred in the original production of the show, will direct, with musical staging by Stephen Mear.

And though the witches themselves remain a mystery, the first casting news has been revealed with Giles Terera appearing as Darryl Van Horne.


The full company for the European premiere of The Cher Show has been revealed. Alongside leading stars Danielle Steers, Debbie Kurup and Millie O’Connell, – will be Lucas Rush as Sonny, Jake Mitchell as Bob Mackie, Sam Ferriday as Greg Allman and Tori Scott as Georgia.

Joining them are Jordan Anderton, Jasmine Jules Andrews, Carla Bertran, Catherine Cornwall, Áine Curran, Sam Holden, Samantha Ivey, Aston Newman Hannington, Ingrid Olivia, Clayton Rosa, Chay Wills and Guy Woolf.
