Casting updates for the Young Vic’s Best of Enemies, Hampstead Theatre’s Peggy For You, audio drama Ghost Walk and the Royal Court’s A Fight Against…

The Young Vic has revealed the complete cast and creative team for James Graham’s bold new play Best of Enemiesdirected by Jeremy Herrin, in a co-production with Headlong.

1968 – a year of protest that divided America. As two men fight to become the next President, all eyes are on the battle between two others: the cunningly conservative William F Buckley Jr., and the iconoclastic liberal Gore Vidal. Beliefs are challenged and slurs slung as these political idols feud nightly in a new television format, debating the moral landscape of a shattered nation. Little do they know they’re about to open up a new frontier in American politics, and transform television news forever…

Charles Edwards plays Gore Vidal and David Harewood plays William F. Buckley Jr. The complete cast also includes Margo Cargill, Emilio Doorgasingh, Clare Foster, Tom Godwin, John Hodgkinson, Justina Kehinde, Syrus Lowe, Kevin McMonagle and Sam Otto.

Best of Enemies is written by James Graham and directed by Jeremy Herrin, with Set and Costume Design by Bunny Christie, Lighting Design by Paule Constable, Sound Design by Tom Gibbons, Video Design by Luke Halls, Composition by Benjamin Kwasi Burrell, Movement Direction by Shelley Maxwell, Associate Movement Direction by Sarita Piotrowski, Casting by Charlotte Sutton CDG, Voice and Dialect by Hazel Holder, Gurkiran Kaur and Salvatore Sorce, with Jerwood Assistant Director Annie Kershaw, Jerwood Assistant Designer Amy Finch and Boris Karloff Trainee Assistant Director Sabrina Richmond.


Hampstead Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for Alan Plater’s raucously funny Peggy For You, directed by Richard Wilson and starring Tamsin Greig in the title role, from 10 December until 29 January 2022. Greig will be joined in the cast by Josh Finan, Trevor Fox, Danusia Samal and Jos Vantyler in this Olivier-nominated play, which received its world premiere at Hampstead Theatre in 1999. 

Wilson will be joined by designer, James Cotterill; lighting designer, Johanna Town; sound designer, Tingying Dong; casting director, Robert Sterne CDG and associate director, Dadiow Lin.


Acclaimed theatre company Poltergeist (Lights Over Tesco Car Park, Art Heist) return to London this December with Ghost Walk, a genre-bending audio walk. Download the app, plug in your headphones, and track down a host of hilarious ghosts lurking in the alleyways of City of London.

Collaborating with sound mapping app developers Echoes, Ghost Walk is a site-specific audio show, turning audience smartphones into ghost detectors. Launched through a 3-day live event in Broadgate, City of London (9th – 11th December), with tickets available now, the GHOST WALK app will then be available to download for free into Spring 2022. 

The all-star cast is led by Olivier-winner Juliet Stevenson. It also stars Adam Buxton, Lydia West, Tanya Reynolds, Nina Wadia Paterson Joseph, David Mumeni, and introducing Ivo and Zac Stimpson. The cast is rounded off by Poltergeist company members Rosa Garland and Will Spence.

Alice Boyd is Composer and Sound Designer for this audio experience, and Jack Bradfield is Director and Lead Writer. The piece is co-written by Rosa Garland and Will Spence, with visual design by Shankho Chaudhuri, and produced by Emily Davis.

Ghost Walk is powered by Echoes (https://echoes.xyz/), and is a co-production with New Diorama Theatre. Supported by British Land, Arts Council England, and with thanks to the Pound Corsham.


Eduardo Arcelus, Joseph Balderrama, Pepa Duarte, Pía Laborde-Noguez, Jimena Larraguivel and Sebastian Orozco have been cast in the world premiere of A Fight Against… (Una Lucha Contra…) written by Pablo Manzi, translated by William Gregory and directed by Royal Court Associate Director (International) Sam Pritchard.

With set design by Rosie Elnile, lighting design by Elliot Griggs, Sound Design by Ben Grant, Movement Direction by Fernanda Muoz-Newsome and the Assistant Director is Mariana Aristizábal Pardo.

A Fight Against… (Una Lucha Contra…) by Pablo Manzi will run in the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Upstairs from Thursday 9 December 2021 – Saturday 22 January 2022 with press night on Tuesday 14 December 2021, 7pm.
