Paul Foster’s concert presentation of Gypsy at Alexandra Palace has added to its already exciting castlist. Joining the seven-fold Rose of Tracie Bennett, Nicola Hughes, Melanie La Barrie, Rebecca Lock, Keala Settle, Samantha Spiro and Sally Ann Triplett will be will be Laura Pitt-Pulford as Louise, Carly Mercedes Dyer as June and Christopher Howell as Herbie.
Directed by Paul Foster with choreography by Joanna Goodwin and sound design by Paul Smith, the show will feature a 26-piece orchestra playing the show’s original orchestrations, conducted by Alex Parker. Book your tickets for 21st February 2022 here.
The Jamie Lloyd Company has announces the return of the critically-acclaimed Olivier Award-winning production of Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac, freely adapted by Martin Crimp, starring a much-lauded James McAvoy.
The production will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London from 3 February – 12 March, before visiting Theatre Royal Glasgow, 18 – 26 March, and completing its run at Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), 5 April – 22 May 2022.
Returning to the cast alongside James McAvoy (Cyrano de Bergerac) are Michele Austin (Ragueneau), Adam Best (Le Bret), Sam Black (Armand), Nari Blair Mangat (Valvert), Vaneeka Dadhria (Beatboxer), Adrian Der Gregorian (Montfleury), Tom Edden (De Guiche), Eben Figueiredo (Christian), Carla Harrison Hodge (Denise), Mika Onyx Johnson (Usher), Nima Taleghani (Ligniere) and Brinsley Terence (Theatre Owner), joined by Jon Furlong (Annoying Person), Tazmyn-May Gebbett (Minder), Joseph Langdon (Jean Paul), Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Marie-Louise) and Evelyn Miller (Roxane).
The Jamie Lloyd Company has also announced that their delayed production of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull in a version by Anya Reiss will also open at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Premiering on 6 July, with previews from 29 June, it should run until 10 September 2022, having closed during previews in March 2020 due to the pandemic. Returning to the company are Emilia Clarke (Nina), Tom Rhys Harries (Trigorin), Daniel Monks (Konstantin), Indira Varma (Arkadina) and Sophie Wu (Masha), with Katie Buchholz, Tina Harris and Joseph Langdon. An update on their production of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, previously announced to be starring Jessica Chastain, is expected soon.
