News: Giles Terera readies a book and a podcast about Hamilton

Giles Terera is certainly keeping busy. His debut play just had its radio premiere, he’s been performing his one-man show (that I missed) and now he’s got a book and podcast series about the show that launched him to Olivier-winning success, Hamilton.

1st July sees the publication of Hamilton and Me: An Actor’s Journal through Nick Hern Books, and it promises to be an honest and thrilling account of life inside Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash-hit, musical Hamilton which opened in London’s West End in December 2017 and won a record-equaling seven Olivier Awards.

Terera, who played Aaron Burr, kept a journal, recording his experiences of the production and his process of creating his award-winning performance. This book, Hamilton and Me, is that journal. It also features unseen colour photographs and an exclusive foreword by Miranda.

And running ahead of its publication, Terera is heading up a new podcast series – Hamilton and Us – about Hamilton that goes behind the scenes of the original London production and sees him joined each episode by a different member of notable alumni from the show.

Guests include director Thomas Kail, who features on the first episode, and cast members Jamael Westman, Chris Jackson, Rachel John and Christine Allado, as well as other special guests. The first episode is available now, with new instalments released weekly.
