News: a whole load of UK musical tour casting announcements

Priscilla Queen of the Desert will restart its tour at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham on 23rd June. Miles Western will take on the role of Bernadette, with Nick Hayes as Adam/Felicia and Edwin Ray playing Tick/Mitzi. They are joined by Daniel Fletcher (Bob), Rebecca Lisewski (Marion), Kevin Yates (Miss Understanding), Gracie Lai (Cynthia) and Ronan Burns (Frank). The Divas will be played by Claudia KariukiRosie Glossop and Aiesha Pease, and the cast is completed by Emma Katie Adcock, Jak Allen Anderson, Allie Daniel, Martin Harding, Clarice Julianda, Jemima Loddy, Nathan Ryles, Tom Scanlon and Jermaine Woods.


The UK and Ireland tour of Hairspray will relaunch at the Theatre Royal Plymouth on 24th June. Brenda Edwards will star as Motormouth Maybelle, Norman Pace will play Wilbur Turnblad, Alex Bourne plays Edna Turnblad and Katie Brace will make her professional stage debut as Tracy Turnblad with Rebecca Thornhill as Velma, Richard Meek as Corny Collins, Ross Clifton as Link Larkin, Jessica Croll as Amber Von Tussle, Rebecca Jane Davies as Penny Pingleton and Charlotte St. Croix as Little Inez.

The full cast includes: Elizabeth Armstrong, Bernadette Bangura, Natalia Brown, Shaquille Brush, Liam Dean, Andrew Dillion, Amandla Elynah, Zoe Heighton, Ceris Hine, Paul Hutton, Jamie Jonathan, Hayley Johnston, Joshua Nkemdilim, Rosie O’Hare, Alexanda O’Reilly, Joshua Pearson, Joseph Poulton and Elliotte Williams-N’Dure.


Chicago kicks off in Manchester on the 17th May with Coronation Street’s Faye Brookes as Roxie Hart, “international recording artist and pop star” Sinitta as Mama Morton’, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star Divina De Campo as Mary Sunshine, Djalenga Scott as Velma Kelly and Joel Montague as Billy Flynn.

The cast will also include Ishmail Aaron, Michelle Andrews, Gabby Antrobus, Delycia Belgrave, Joel Benjamin, Tanisha-Mae Brown, Callum Fitzgerald, Emily Goodenough, Billie Hardy, Aaron Jenkins, Liam Marcellino, Theo Reece, Hollie Jane Stephens and Harrison Wilde.


The UK tour of Heathers kicks off at the Leeds Grand from 28th July and the 2021 touring Class of Westerberg High includes Rebecca Wickes (Veronica Sawyer), Simon Gordon (JD), Maddison Firth (Heather Chandler), Merryl Ansah (Heather Duke), Lizzy Parker (Heather McNamara), Mhairi Angus, Andy Brady, Callum Connolly, Liam Doyle, Georgina Hagen, Bayley Hart, Kurt Kansley and Daisy Twells.


The diner may have been closed early by the pandemic but the UK and Ireland tour of Waitress opens at the New Wimbledon Theatre on 4th September 2021. Only the lead casting has been revealed so far but excitingly that includes Lucie Jones, Sandra Marvin, Evelyn Hoskins and Matt Jay-Willis.  


Everybody’s Talking About Jamie‘s UK tour is currently scheduled to start at the Lowry on 1st September.
